I’m Ali, founder of Dynamips, an evolving platform dedicated to enhancing networking skills through emulators and emulators educational resources. I’d like to share with you the story of Dynamips’s genesis and our recent strategic shift that I believe aligns with the innovative ethos you champion.

my journey began with a fervent passion for networking during the Windows NT era. That passion only grew with the advent of Windows 95 and 98, as I immersed myself in the complexities of networking, always learning, always experimenting.

The quest for knowledge was not without its challenges. In the early days, the lack of network simulators meant that I had to invest heavily in actual network hardware to hone my skills. This hands-on experience was invaluable, yet it was also a barrier for many who lacked the resources. I recall the days of relentless practice, such as when I mastered the DHCP service on Windows Server 2000, repeating the process 63 times, a testament to my dedication.

Back in 2021, while teaching networking on Udemy, I found myself drawn to Facebook groups where I could lend my expertise to solve networking queries. It was a daily ritual, driven by passion, to spend 30 to 45 minutes assisting network enthusiasts. It was in this capacity that I identified a gap in the market: when I encountered a user struggling with EVE-NG, a network emulator. I had the resources at hand and shared my EVE-NG setup, complete with a variety of Cisco images. The feedback was astounding. It led to the creation of the EVE-NG Full Pack —a tool that quickly gained traction among professionals.

As Dynamips.store gained traction, it became clear that we could be more than a download hub.
In the spirit of innovation and addressing unmet needs, I have taken your insight on the market gap for network emulator education to heart. The journey has led to the strategic decision to elevate Dynamips as a key educational platform for network professionals.

The transformation has commenced with a comprehensive website overhaul. A pivotal element of this evolution is transitioning from a store-focused domain to one that resonates with our educational mission. After extensive analysis, the .io domain has emerged as the definitive choice to encapsulate our vision and objectives.

Why the switch to .io, you might ask? Beyond its geographical roots, .io has become synonymous with ‘input/output’ within the tech community—a nod to our computing foundations. This domain not only aligns with our technology-driven ethos but also preserves our brand identity.
